Our Governance

The Yale and District Historical Society.

The Yale and District Historical Society was established on January 31, 1977. The Board of Directors of the Society is known as the Executive Council and is comprised of the Officers of the Society (President, Vice-President and Secretary, Treasurer) and four Directors known as Museum Trustees. The Board has chosen to operate as a Policy Board and meet its fiduciary duties in accordance with the following governance policies contained herein.

The Board’s duty is to govern the affairs of the Society within the framework of relevant legislation and standards. The Board, in discharging its responsibilities for the governance of the Society, oversees the management of the Society’s finances.
